CANOE Brewpub, Marina and Restaurant, located on the waterfront in Victoria's active inner harbour, is one of the city's "must experience" destinations for locals and visitors alike. Canoe brewpub is located in a Designated Heritage site.

Our building, originally named The City Lights Building, was erected in 1894 to house the coal fired electric generators that powered Victoria's streetlights. Over the decades, the building has seen many uses and has stood as a proud heritage landmark on the downtown waterfront.

In 1996 the building underwent a major $6,000,000 interior and exterior timber frame restoration, retrofit and rejuvenation. Today, CANOE's soaring timber frame and rustic brick architecture create a vibrant atmosphere and provides a versatile setting for gatherings large or small.

CANOE handcrafted beers are brewed in small batches to the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516 using only the finest malted barley, hops, yeast and water. They are naturally carbonated, unfiltered and created without the use of additives or preservatives.

At CANOE we strive to uphold the rich brewing traditions that have been passed to us by generations of brewmasters worldwide. We do so using time-honoured methods, but utilizing state-of-the-art brewing equipment and systems. Our understanding of both the "past and present" science of brewing enables us to produce craft beers that are consistently clean, pure, full of flavour and complex in character. All CANOE premium handcrafted beer is available for off sales.

Our beers have become legendary in Victoria and across the Pacific Northwest for their crisp, clean & pure flavors. We encourage you to try a fleet (set of samplers) to experience the full range of our crafted offerings.
         

CANOE's food philosophy is simple. We showcase local farmers and our changing menu highlights seasonal organics, local quality meat and wild seafood. Our current cuisine runs the scope from pure comfort to globally inspired.
