Bartholomew’s is the place for entertainment with live music Wednesday to Sunday. The pub staff are very attractive and friendly and for sports fans there are four television screens, including a big screen and all major sporting events are shown. The bar is a popular meeting place for locals, including quite a few UK and European ex-patriots so soccer (English football) is one of the hot topics most days of the week but particularly on the weekend when English premiership games are shown live on television.

Doubles Bar is a focal point for residents and has a traditional lounge atmosphere with some of the heaviest and most comfortable bar stools you will find anywhere. Again the staff are attractive and welcoming – they interchange with Bart’s. Doubles is open Tuesday through Saturday (evenings only) but is a great spot for a quiet conversation in one of the intimate booths or lively conversation at the round table or the bar. Wednesday at Bart’s and Doubles is well known around the town as ‘Winey Wednesday’ when the house wines are on special.
